Lakes Charity Classic 20th Year

4-5th June 2010 Buttermere, Cumbria

Its time to dust off your wing, come up north and give it and your soul an airing in arguably the most beautiful part of England - the Buttermere valley in the heart of the Lake District.

The LCC Open competitions are held Friday 4th and Saturday 5th June. Proceeds go to local charities. Suited to beginner & expert pilots the competitions can be entered on-line at: http://www.cumbriasoaringclub.co.uk/lcc/CSC_LCCMain.php

The event is based at the same idyllic location as in the last few years, on the shore of Buttermere.

Cost for camping Thursday/Friday will be £5 a night per person and £10 a person for camping and theSaturday night Bash. Facilities on site will include a food van,portaloos and hopefully a tap for drinking water, the site is basic butwith a view to die for. The famous Buttermere Bash will provide a justifiable salute to the events longevity. The entertainment will officially kick off on Saturday evening with a number of aviation treats including the chance to watch the one and only Felix Rodriguez do his thing above the lake. To have attracted Felix to put on a world class event is something we are very proud of in the Cumbria Soaring Club - but we could not do it without your help and support.

Oncethe aviation trickery and prize presentations have been completed, TheBash will continue with what promises to be another classic event oflive music and getting down and gettingfunky. We have a bigger band tent this year to accommodate our soundsystem and hopefully more of you. As ever we canny Cumbrians will keep you plied with our specially brewed Ale called 'Thirst Flight' and numerous other concoctions from our extensivebar as well as providing a huge barbeque earlier on Saturday evening,cost £8 each to satisfy your hunger. The party will go well into theearly hours of Sunday morning with local favourite D.J. Slate finishing off the night with his top tunes. We willalso have a Friday night 'Jamming' session in the bar tent and musicfrom here through out Saturday afternoon to entertain anyone hangingout on site.
