Dales Club Social at the Horse and Farrier (upstairs function room) in Otley from 8pm. Meet for a drink and a chat at 7.30pm or about 6.30pm if you want a meal.
An introduction to gliding (sailplanes): where to do it, how to learn, what it involves, and how much it costs. How to avoid walking up hills and ground handling, fly in stronger winds, and improve your glide ratio (significantly).
This month we welcome 2 senior glider pilots. Chris Thirkell was the chairman at Sutton Bank and Anthony McDermott is a retired senior police detective who flies out of Burn. Both were also instrumental in helping us to defeat the last Airspace Change Proposal from Leeds Bradford Airport. It promises to be an informative and entertaining evening.
